Saturday night NASCAR Billy and Joe beat Emma and Archer.....
Later that night at his Uncle Ned's second cousin's farm....
It was....
Party!
Inside of one of the hay barns the old Christmas lights have been strung up around the old hand cut beams, some plywood has been nails down to create a dance floor. A couple of old lead lights hang from the rafters and some old barrels make the bar with some slab wood for the top. The stereo is jamming with some country rap and Billy has a couple of 5 gallon pails set up behind the bar with a stack of Mason jars set next to it. Someone cleaned out the old drinking water tub for the cows and piled it full of ice with two kegs on tap. The place has about 30-40 guys and girls in it having a great time drinking, dancing, throwing darts and stepping outside to shoot some old beer cans with their AR15's. Tonight not only does Billy celebrate his big win over Emma and Archer, but it marks his first run of shine.
Like his last big win Billy invites a bunch of people for a party and he ends up getting plastered and having fun. The kid is only 20 so cut him some slack. Everyone is having a blast, the guns are popping in the background as everyone thinks they are some sort of sniper these days. On the dance floor Billy has two pure breed Red Neck ladies with him as they bump and grind and the one blonde is wearing Billy's Dale Jr jacket, unzipped and we can see she isn't wearing a shirt under it. The other girl, also a blonde is wearing Billy's shirt and his UWL tag team title hanging low on her hips and as far as we can tell, she isn't wearing any shorts under it as the title is her shorts.....
Everyone has a mason jar in their hands taking sips and having a great time all together. So far it looks like Billy get his own double shot before the night is all said and done but first, he gets a visitor.
Stepping into the barn wearing a suit is Steve Sinclair. His long black hair is pull back in a pony tail and his pauses in the sliding barn door opening with his hands in his pockets. Besides the fact that he is seven foot four he sticks out as not belonging here. Everyone in the barn is proud to be called a redneck and Steve is anything but a red neck. He glances over the scene for a second and spots Billy. Steve strolls on it making his way towards the dance floor and Billy.
Steve walks up to Billy and taps him on the shoulder. Billy looks up and goes white.
"Oh! Shit! Steve?"
The two girls are in awe too. Steve nods and motions for Billy to come with him.
"I'll be right back ladies."
Billy follows Steve as they make their way outside where it is a bit quieter.
"You need somethin' big guy?" Billy says as they step out side, Billy is lubricated some and isn't afraid of Steve. Steve stops and turns and faces Billy and looks down at him.
"Hell of a party kid."
Taking a sip of his shine. "Sure is man. Man I have two lovely ladies in there....."
Steve cuts Billy off. He's never been one of small talk. "Yeah I saw. Good for you if that's what you want. So this is your stuff you made?"
Steve takes the mason jar from Billy.
"Huh...yeah?"
Steve takes a sip of Billy's shine and it goes down smooth. Steve nods slightly and takes another sip before handing back the jar.
"Not bad kid. Listen I don't want to cock block you here tonight. I just wanted to stop by and say I watched your match and that was one hell of a beating you took out there tonight. I liked how you never gave in, kept fighting and gutted it out to make the tag. You have a ton of fight in you kid. I like that about you. You should be proud of that win Billy. Real proud."
"Thanks man. I appreciate that. I really do."
"That being said. You need to get out from under Joe's shadow. He's holding you back. So is that tub of lard Nanook. They are doing nothing but keeping you down. You can be a huge star Billy. Making some real money, throwing real parties. Scoring some real fine ladies. Women that make them two look like trailer trash. When you want to break out on your own. When you want your name on the marquee you know where to find me. I'll make things happen for you Billy. I have connections. I know the right people. You're better than a lonely tag team champion."
"You think so?"
Steve glances around quick and notices the guns being fired and he knows he has to get going. His parole officer would like this one bit and he likes not spending time locked up. He pulls out a wad of cash from his pocket, all 100 dollar bills.
"You sell any of that shine yet?"
"Nah. Not yet. Dis was my first run."
Steve takes the jar back and hands Billy the wad of cash.
"Consider this your first sale. Anyone who makes shine this good, can be a star at anything he puts his mind too. I'll see you around kid."
Steve walks off taking a sip of the shine and Billy looks in his hand at the wad of cash. A smile appears on his face. Just then the two girls appear at the barn door.
"BILLY!!! You coming back to the party? We're getting lonely!" They say. Billy stuffs the cash in his pocket and turns around with a huge smile on his face.
"Well we can't have that now can we ladies?"
Fade out.
