This week marks a big week for the UWL. It's the rare event in which the UWL will have a show outside of Knoxville and this week the UWL is making Miami it's home for the week and that means Joe gets to go home and spend the week at home and it couldn't have come at a better time. With Nanook forcing him to team up with Nascar Billy and then this whole match with Alan Christopher Joe is really looking forward to going home for a week. He was looking forward to it so much he left Monday after the interview with Kip leaving Billy and Nanook far behind.
It took everything Joe had, every extra dollar he had and could get his hands on to use a down payment for his condo in South Beach right on the Ocean. It was Nanook of all people who found this deal for Joe. It was a foreclosure and was going up for auction and Nanook ended up being the highest bidder on it, and it wasn't cheap either. Joe remembers the day Nanook called him to let him know he won the house. It came at a bad time too. He just tweaked his knee after a match in Philly and was going to be out of action for a while. It's the "tweak" that resulted in 3 surgeries and lost almost 2 and half years of in ring action. He agreed to buy the place from Nanook, a quick flip for Nanook where he made a couple of bucks and put zero dollars into the place, his favorite kind of flips. Even after a mark up from Nanook, Joe ended up buying the place well under market value and was able to get a loan against it without too much of a hassle. But there were a couple of years there where Joe sweated it out with his knee issue and all. Now, the place is paid off and Joe put a little money into it fixing it up and has it the way he wants it and is by far his pride and joy in life and when he can go home for a week or more, Joe is so happy.
But this week, while he's excited to be home, there is a dark cloud hanging over Joe's head. And that dark cloud is Alan Christopher and his No holds barred match coming up this weekend.
It's Wednesday night after dark and Joe is on the beach in front of his condo. It's dark outside and Joe is wearing a black hoodie and has the hood up covering his face....
"I don't know if this is a wrestling match, or a Baptist revival. Should I get my wrestling gear dry cleaned or should I break out my Sunday's best and wear that to the ring? Alan says he's upset at me because I pinned him in the four way but then he says he needs to save me because I'm a nonbeliever. About the only thing I do know is this. The church of Alan, the leader of Alanism, in his mind is the second coming of Jesus Christ and will have you believe that he is a prophet but the only thing we know he is, is conflicted."
The camera is fixed on Joe's face, but with it being dark outside and the hoodie covering his face we can't see his face.
"I don't go to church very often. It's not that I don't believe in god because I do. It's because the church don't really welcome someone like me with open arms under it's roof. And I can't sit there and listen to all of the Jesus stories. I'm not buying any of the new testament. You can keep the hippie god really does love you version. That is a discussion for another day and in a different forum. I'm not wasting my air time in a religious debate. But I will waste my time talking about Alan."
You can hear the waves crashing on the shore in the background and the wind is picking up blowing the hood of his hoodie around but we still can't see Joe's face.
"The one thing I hate in sports, especially in collage sports, is these schools who think it's their birthright to always play for the National title. Even when they suck ass. I hate guys who climb in that ring and think that they are god's gift to wrestling. It's their birth right to win this match, the next title simply because there name is Joe Blow or in this case Alan Christopher. You act like it was a foregone conclusion that you were going to win that four way match when in all reality you were the worst athlete in the match. Out of everyone in that match, you didn't deserve belonging there. You deserved to be the first one eliminated. THAT! Is the cold hard fact. THAT! Is the truth. It's not my fault that you're a cry baby and couldn't handle the cold hard reality that just slapped you in the face."
Joe lowers his head and then looks back into the camera.
"Everyone knows that this match will come down to Joe Jones taking on the whole Devastation INC camp. Ray Charles can see this. And I shouldn't be surprised. No one should be surprised. I'm that no name division 2 school with a bunch of hicks no one has ever heard of who just beat Auburn in a shoot out and Auburn just took a massive hit in the BCS standings and there is no way Auburn can win the national title this year. So they fire their coach and the entire staff and start all over again. Poor little Alan so desperate to face Caleb Hart again. Poor little Alan wants the entire world to believe he could beat Caleb Hart and the first two times were a fluke. Alan would have you believe he was suppose to win that four way match, when I ruined everything. I just destroyed your National Bid."
Joe rubs the side of his face.
"You stomped your feet, you cried and carried on like a little bitch acting like you just got hoodwinked. But what you failed to see Alan, is your nothing more than a D3 school. I'm one of the big boys around here. I'm one of the big money schools. You're walking into my house, my hood! I'm the U and you're going to get smoked! You know you can't beat me by your self so you have to get help. You need help. You have no choice but to make sure all your boys are at ring side. Let's face it, you need this match more than I do. You HAVE to win this match. How can you lose this match and then go and stand in front of the brain dead Sunday after another loss and talk all of your nonsense? You keep losing and eventually no one will buy into your crap you're feeding them."
Joe was sitting on his knees in the sand this whole time. He starts to stand up and slowly pulls the hood of his hoodie back.
"The eyes of the UWL were opened last week. When I defeated the big bad Brooks, you could see everyone in the UWL take a step back. They took notice. I'm no longer the under dog. I'm no longer that guy with tons of talent but can't get the job done. I didn't need Frankie standing at ring side to "cheer me on." to walk out of the UWL Arena with a win under my belt over Brooks and this week Alan. I don't need Frankie to help me to defeat you. I will over come the odds. I will reach down and dig for everything you and your buddies will throw at me. When it is all said and done Alan, I will survive, and I will have only myself to thank for the win after words. Be prepared to be disappointed once again Alan. After this match, you will have to officially change your name to Alan Harper for you will be viewed as one big loser. I will win this match, and my other match. I will go undefeated at Nightmare 4. Just try and stop me Alan. I doubt you can."
Joe pulls his hood back up and starts to make his way towards his house.
