Scene fades in. With Joe Jones holding up his one hand with his fingers spread out as far as they can go. He wiggles his fingers, smirks.
“Did I call it or did I call it?” Joe says as he closes his hand.
“BioRhythm barely hit the internet for all of precious views on youtube and five so called superstars, five big time challengers for that title, five sure fire hits who couldn't hang around and be there at the end of the 60 minutes, five losers have called it quits on good old Whirlwind wrestling. I think I said that most of the guys in that scramble match wouldn’t make it to next event.”
Joe places his hands on his hips, looks down at the floor for a second, looks up at the camera.
“Does anyone have any pride anymore?”
“Does anyone have any desire to put in the work, hard work to earn such accolades anymore?”
Holding up his index finger.
“Everywhere I go in the last, say two, three years. The wrestling world is filled with these fly by night, all hype, no substance, great in their minds, hot air wind bags that when push comes to shove, they tuck their tails between their legs and high tail it out of the building or in this case, out of the country because their little itty bitty fragile ego can't handle and little set back. A little bruising.”
“Now, yes, admittedly, I have to eat some crow today. I told all of you that I would be standing here today as your Champion.”
Holding his arms out.
“As you can see, I am not standing here as your Whirlwind Champion. That Bryan Blaze is and good for him. I guess, I should be a little more, gracious towards him seeing that we go back to Tennessee and all, seeing how we both were slightly worked over by management there, but whatever. He's a annoying little gnat and that belt will be right where it deserves to be, around my waist but first!”
Holds his index finger.
“I have to send one “can't miss”, one more “real draw”, one more “real champ” to the “Good luck in your future endeavors” list. On April 9th, whoever it is that handles the twitter account for this place will tweet, It is with a heavy heart, we are sad to report that at Sam Tolson has asked for her release from Whirlwind Wrestling and we wish her nothing but luck in whatever is in her future.”
“And don't get all huffy and stomp our feet and grit your teeth and say something dumb like “WILL NOT!”. Because we both know that is what going to happen in a couple of weeks. Shit, I bet the only reason why you even stuck around past Biorhythm, is because you most likely blame me for not winning the belt when the clock was running out of time. Just save your breath and stuff your feelings in your hand bag. No one wants to hear how you feel about, how you were screwed over! How your heart is broken, how you dream of being the first ever WhirlWind Wrestling champion fell apart at the last, possible second! All of that crying, pouting and finger pointing isn't going to get you anywhere.”
“Do you know what the people of Monterrey, Mexico care about? The guys like me, like Bryan Blaze, if you can believe that, Steve Calloway and others who came to Mexico to make a impact. To help build something from the ground up, watch it become one of the powerhouses in pro wrestling. We are going to be the guys two years from now, when WhirlWind Wrestling is raking in millions of dollars, getting a billion views on YouTube, trending worldwide on twitter, we are the one who will be looked at as the backbone, the corner stones of this company. While you….”
Joe pauses and brushes his hair back from his eyes with his hand.
“You'll be that girl. That flash in the pan, that one hit wonder, who didn't even stick around long enough to be consider to have had a cup of coffee, who left to chase her dreams elsewhere, went to 150 other little shit holes, wrestling in front of 15 people and won herself 1200 meaningless, worthless…”
Joe looks directly into the camera.
“Nameless “championships”. When it's all said and done Sam. No one will care. No one will be like “Oh Gee! Sam Tolson! A sure fire hall of famer! She was awesome!” You will be forgotten. Not even a footnote in the early history of Whirlwind Wrestling. And that, Sam.”
Holds up his index finger.
“Begins one second after I beat you at Force of Will.”
