RP#13

Billy's Uncle Ned 2nd cousin who has a farm just outside of Knoxville has a couple of barns, outside of the milk house. Some of the barns store bails of hay and one out on the outer edge of the field is used for tractors and what not. It's a little beat up and showing it's age but it still serves it's purpose and in the middle of winter, like a couple of days after New Years it's becomes a make shift workshop for NASCAR Billy. He has some pallets stacked up to make a workbench in the one corner of the barn, with a couple of drop lights giving him light. On the pallets he has a sheet of copper that he has cut and rolled in a cylinder shape and is measuring up a piece to cut in a circle when Nanook slides the door open and he and Kip Anderson step into the barn which on this blistering cold day is heated by a small wood stove that Billy stucked in his work area.

"Billy! You in here?"

Billy has just fired up his propane torch and he didn't hear Nanook or Kip entering the barn. He freaks out a little, killing his torch. "Shit! and taking a notepad and flipping it closed and stuffs it in his back pocket of his overalls.

"Yeah! Over here!"

"Hey! There you are. Whatca ya doing?"

Billy stares at his work piece and his mind is blank. "uhmmmm....making a shoot for the....uhmmmm....silo? Yeah the silo."

Nanook and Kip make their around the maze of tractors and whatnot that litter the old barn. Some of the stuff works, some doesn't and some of it haven't seen the light of day since the 40's. Finally they make their way to the back corner where Billy is at. Kip stands next to the wood stove and holds his hands out over the stove to suck up some heat that it is throwing out.

"Out of copper?" Kip asks.

"Yeah out of copper Kip. It's slippery and the corn just slips right out of it. A piece got damaged and Ima gunna make a new one."

Nanook stands next to Kip and slides his hands in his coat pocket. They are both standing by the stove looking at what Billy is making.

"How about that. Well good for you Billy. Listen, I brought Kip out here because he wanted to get some thoughts about the Coronation Cup."

"It's been a quite week with the holidays and all. I know you have something to say. You always do."

Billy reaches in his front pocket of his overalls and pulls out a can of Skoal and taps the top of the can and couple of times with his thumb.

"You know I've gots something to say. I'm glad you found me Mr. Anderson. I've gots to get something off of my chest about that rat bastard Arch Stanton."

"Well hold on Billy. Let's get this on film."

Billy cracks open his can of chew and takes a pinch out. "All rightly then."



Kip Anderson is standing next to Nascar Billy who is wearing thermo overalls, a red flannel jacket and a bright red GMC trucker hat with a half empty bottle of coke in his hand. In the background is Billy's repair piece of the silo.....

KA "Hello UWL fans and I'm Kip Anderson bringing you the latest from the stars of the UWL and tonight, I braved the bitter cold and found NASCAR Billy hard at work in the barn before he sets out to win the tag team Coronation Cup! Billy you told me that you have something that you want to say to Arch Stanton?"

Billy nods his head and has a slight scowl on his face. He spits in the coke bottle first. "I sure do Mr. Anderson sir. Iva gots to get something off of my chest about that no good lying sonofabitch Arch Stanton. Arch!"

Billy is looking right into the camera.

"I dunno who you think you are. I dunno know if you took one too many knocks to her head over the years or what! Maybe JB knocked you fer a loop at Final Countdown, I dunno! But DON'T YOU EVER! EVER CALL ME A DRUNK! A LOSER! AND A MORON EVER AGAIN! I'm not a drunk! I dunno why people sayin' that Kip! I really don't know why. Just because I like a nice cold beer now and then, doesn't make me a drunk! Kip? Listen, your standin' there right?"

KA "I am. I wish I was standing closer to that wood stove but yes, I'm right here."

"Am I drunk right now? Do you smell beer on my breath?"

KA "Ahhh...no. You seem to be pretty sober. I'm no expert but you don't seem drunk."

"You're god damn right I'm not drunk! I haven't had a drink in 3 days now! I'm stone cold sober! You have a beer once or twice on camera and Arch Stanton thinks you're a drunk! Look. I dunno have my title with me right now, but trust me Kip. If I was a drunk like Arch says I am, then there was no way I would've won that title! If I was a drunk, stumbling around the ring, unable to control myself der is no way I would be able to win the UWL Tag Team Championship! Every time I step in that ring Kip, I'm sober! Go get the coppers Arch! Tell em I'm drunk! Hell Arch I'm underage! I'd be in big trouble if I was drunk! But you know something. I bet Arch won't call the Po Po."

KA "Because I doubt they would show up?"

"Naw! Because I bet someone like Arch has a warrant or two. Warrant fer speeding? Hit and run? Unpaid parking tickets? Arch doesn't strike me as the type of guy who follows all of the traffic laws you know Kip."

KA "You can't say something like that Billy. You have no proof that Arch has speeding tickets and whatnot."

"Well he called me a moron and no one said that wasn't nice! Imma......"

Billy pauses and gathers himself. He closes his eyes and looks down and calms himself down. He spits in his bottle and opens his eyes.

"Kip. I work hard. I'm at the gym every day. I'm working out. Training. Workin' on my cardio. You know doing what I needs to do to get even better Kip. I watched Joe win that Heritage title last year."

Billy winks and smirks.

"I watched Joe everyday in the gym bustin' it out to get better, to step up his game to beat the one guy in the UWL who every body said he couldn't beat and at Final Countdown, Joe Jones, my tag team partner, the guy who is workin' with me everyday to help me get better. He took one hell of a beatin' and then he ended up beatin' the one guy everyone and their momma's said he couldn't beat! And when he rolled Caleb Hart up, he beat the king, he dethroned the king and he walked out with the UWL Heritage title! I see that! Kip. I wanna do that! I wanna beat Sean Landon fer the UWL TV title! Hell I want to face Justin Brooks and beat him fer the UWL World title! I want to be more than the UWL Tag Team Champion. Now don't get me wrong Kip, I love being the Tag Team Champion. I mean I LOVE those titles! The money. The fame. The women oh good lord the women who want a piece of Billy....."

Billy laughs and spits again.

"Yeah it's real nice. But if I was say the UWL World champion, dear lord all mighty how much fun would that be? Ima workin' at gettin' better and than when I hear someone like Arch, like Emma, like Archer say I'm nuttin. I'm a fad. I'm a loser. Well Kip, that just grinds my gears! That gets under my skin! That lights a fire in me and I just want....want to explode! I just want to go find em' and punch them right in the nose you know!"

KA "You can't let them get to you like that Billy. I know you're not a moron. The fans who show up to the shows and watch you on TV, chant your name and buy your shirts, they know you're not a loser. I hate to say it Billy but you need to get a thicker skin if you're going to be in this business."

"'Bout the only part of me that is goin' to grow thicker skin is the skin on my knuckles! As it would happen, I have a shot to get my hands on each and everyone of them suckers who disrespecting' me this week Kip! Robb Daniels and Arch Stanton aren't seein' eye to eye right now. They could be at each other's throat and now they have me to deal with! Arch might have beaten' me last time. But Ima no push over. This time won't be "like last time" Arch! This time I'm goin' to beat a old broken down man who had a chance at fame and watched it as it was just flushed down the crapper! I hated how you talked about me last time Arch! I hate how you've talked about me ever since and it's time to pay the piper Arch! NASCAR Billy is gunna tighten the belts one last time and stomp on the pedal and mash the gas! Just like you speedin' down the highway, Ima gunna do that to yer face! And when I get done with ya, I'll show Robb Daniels just how good I'd be! Why I'm the future of the UWL! And why Joe and I, we'll be the Coronation Cup winners! And if by some chance Bad Intentions get by Bad Karma, Ima gunna get even with Archer and put Emma in her place! If they get by Brooks and Karma. Now Brooks and Karma....Kip they haven't really said anything too bad about Joe and I. I can respect that but that doesn't mean I will let up on em to win that Cup! We are the UWL Tag Team Champions! We are the BEST TEAM in the UWL Emma! We have the straps to prove it! Next we will have the Cup too! Just like NASCAR! If you ain't first Kip..."

Billy looks at Kip and Kip slowly tilts the mic towards him.

KA "You suck?"

"Damn right you do! WHOOOOOOOOO!
