RAVENSPELL
The other night I was asked a question if Ravenspell would be open after Ultimate Mayhem. I said Yeah I think so. Then it hit me that alot of you have been using Ravenspell in your role plays as the setting.
Ravenspell has been around for as long as I can remember. Since the birth of Cobalt aka Raven Sinclair. The bar has moved and changed over the years and even fell victim to fire once. And Ravenspell is apart of the NYCW. It's almost a character all by it self.
Therefore in the upcoming weeks, (hopefully not) months We'll be building a page or two about Ravenspell to help you in your role plays. Having everyone on the same page is a good.
We're planning on have a history of Ravenspell, where, how big, who works there and a bit on each person, the hours, and I'm going to attempt to make a floor plan of the bar! This might take some time.
But in the meantime, Here are some basic knowledge of Ravenspell
Where is Ravenspell?
Ravenspell is located in a old armory in Schenectady a few blocks away from the TNT arena
What's the size of Ravenspell?
It's a three story bar and pub. The first floor is a Celtic pub with a sport bar. Aka Hooters with a Celtic theme The second floor is the dance and sometimes Goth hang out joint. And the third floor is the offices, storage, crap you will never see.
The hours of Ravenspell?
2 Pm till 4am, Seven days a week
A few faces of Ravenspell.
Angus the Head bartender. Angelo, Nails (Second floor bartender), and Timmy are also bartenders at Ravenspell. And two bouncers, KC Sinclair (when in town), Matt, and Rennick
There you go. Hopefully this will get off the ground soon!
History of Ravenspell :
While growing up Raven was always taught to have something to be able to fall back upon . So Raven majored in Business in college as her back up plan should her career in wrestling ever fall through. She was doing pretty well on her own and didn’t have to dip into the trust fund set up by her father , the late Jack “Slaughter “ Sinclair. That was until a opportunity arose that she just couldn’t resist.............
Shortly after moving back to the states , Raven landed a job in the newly formed RWF . Hanging out after the show in New York , she wound up at a local bar that reminded her of her favorite pub back home in Scotland. The pub named “Lucky Charms” soon became her favorite watering hole, and the regulars gladly adopted her as one of their own.
After she tossed her rival Tommy Dreamer out the stained glass window for the umpteenth time , the former owner offered to sell the bar to Raven just to end his worries of having wrestlers hanging out at his bar and tearing it up. Raven thought it over and bought the bar, spending the next two months bringing it up to code and revamping the interior but still keeping the original Celtic feel .
“Lucky Charms” did quite well and soon proved a good investment . Watching the bar while Raven travels from show to show was Angus Mc Ogg . Angus had been there since any one could remember . He’s short, he’s witty and prone to telling a dirty little ditty. He’ll tell it like it is and is not afraid to do so ...but more on him later.
It was after one of Raven and Steve's many feuds in the RWF that the fire happened. An enraged Steve had snapped and in his fury broke into “Lucky Charms” and started tearing it apart and somehow caused a fire that burnt “Lucky Charms” to the ground . Furious at her brother Raven swore revenge and soon rebuilt a bigger and better pub and named it “Ravenspell “.
After RWF closed Raven was going to devote her time to the pub , but found out that wrestling still had a hold over her. Angus being her right hand man kept a eye on the pub and Raven as well , as she wrestled on the west coast and Japan.
A few years later saw Steve investing in a hotel in Florida on the same strip of land that his long time rival Wilburman also owned a hotel. Being in the same fed and on somewhat better terms with Steve and his new found love , Raven found herself spending most of her time in Florida. Noticing that the bar at the hotel wasn’t doing well and its lease would soon be up Raven and Julie Ann came up with a plan to open their own bar and “ Ravenspells” sister pub “Sinclair’s” was opened with a much more wrestling theme .
2001 was not a good year for Raven and it looked like her career was over after she was suspended and banned from wrestling for two years due to a tragic incident in Japan . Forlorn , depressed , injured and licking her wounds , she returned to running the bar. That’s when another opportunity fell into her hands .
Raven had noticed that the pub was getting a bit to crowded on certain nights and that if she expanded , business could get better . It was either that or she would have to close down the gothic part of the bar .
It was while reading the local paper the next day that she discovered that the old local armory built way back in the 1800’s was being put up for sale . The armory was the same building she had fallen in love with when she had first moved into the area. The high stone walls reminded her of castles back home . A quick call to the real estate agent led to a quick tour of the place and soon Raven found herself signing papers.
