The sound of a chisel being hammered into concrete can be heard. The scene slowly fades in and we see hand holding a chisel up against a concrete wall and a hammer striking said chisel. Everything else is darkened out.
"I am not a student of history. American or foreign and furthermore, I am no student of royalty history. I’m a ‘Merican and we don’t need no damn king or queen in this here country thank you! So I couldn’t tell you who was the king of queen of England prior to Queen Elizabeth. Not a clue. But I watch Game of Thrones and I have a pretty good idea that the fight for the crown and the throne on dat there show is just a reflection of real life.”
The hammer strikes the chisel.
"I could be wrong about that but I’m thinking if I was a stuck up Englishmen and had a position that had me a couple of heartbeats away from the crown, from taking over the country and absolute power. Well you better hedge your bets that I would kill whoever was in front of me to be crowned king. Just think of all of the perks that job must come with! Like, If I was the king of the UWL, Arch Stanton would be my chamber pot cleaner. Autumn Raven would be my mistress and Jessica would be working in the tavern as a whore and I would have Caleb Hart found guilty of treason and he would be my fool where everyone would mock him and throw their trash at him for our delight. Yeah some of you, wouldn’t want to live in the Kingdom of Billy. Just saying.”
The hammer strikes the chisel again. The concrete chips this time.
"But what shows like the Games of Thrones, The Tudors, and the Bastard Executioner have showed me is that, to take out the king, it doesn’t happen overnight. It doesn’t happen over a drunken weekend. A month or even a year. It takes several years, several battles, a war and thousands if not millions of lives and you have spent every damn piece of coin you have to your name, your kids name and your kid’s kid name. But history has taught us one thing.”
The hammer strikes the wall again and a small crack forms.
"Once there is a crack, the king always falls. If you keep chipping away at the wall of the kingdom, it eventually gives away and the crown, the throne is ripe for the taking.”
The hammer strikes the chisel again and a small chunk of concrete chips away.
"That is what we have here kiddies. Weather we like it or not we live in the kingdom of Caleb. He has taken on all invaders and so far he has be able to swat them away, he sent everyone who dare defy him, who has the balls to step up and challenge him for his crown, Caleb has swatted them all on the backside and sent them hightailing to the hills. Hell some of these would be challengers, we haven’t seen since. And for a long time now, I mean a long time the walls that Caleb has built have stood against the storms, the attacks and the wars. They stand, tall and proud. But they are starting to show their age now in this historic run Caleb is on, a life time in the making. This run is starting to take everything he has out of him.”
The hammer strikes the chisel again. Another crack forms.
"Cracks are forming and while Caleb might deny it, while he might laugh it off. A crack is a crack. He might think it’s no big deal, it’s a fluke. But if you want to defeat Caleb, you defeat him in a tag match. Yeah so what, in the scheme of things it’s just not a big deal, just a tag loss. No everyone can be awesome in tag team matches like…..like….HillBilly Sutton is. To many of his fans and maybe even to Caleb himself, it’s nothing. It’s out of his control but we all know that you don’t like to lose Caleb. Even if it is just a tag match. It’s a way into your head. A way under your skin and you don’t like it. You talked up Tyson Turbo. Arch Stanton.”
Billy walks into the picture but he remains in the shadow, all we see is his outline.
"They failed you and you didn’t like that one bit.”
Billy strikes the chisel again, another chip of concrete falls off the wall, the crack grows.
"And here you are again, forced to talk nice about Arch. Talk about how much you two will show the world just how great you two are as a team, how you two will work together to defeat a common enemy.”
Billy strikes the chisel again, more concrete flakes away.
"That must really eat you up inside. You will face Cory and I, and we want nothing more than to just beat you two in this match. We want to hold this victory over your heads. You two are not a team. There is no team work on that side of the ring. Cory and I, we’re on the same page. We have the same goal. We work well as a team and there is a saying Nanook says from time to time. There is no I in team.”
Billy strikes the chisel again, more concrete falls from the wall, the crack grows more.
"It takes time, to topple a kingdom. It starts with a small little crack and you keep on whacking it and whacking it till it grows and grows. It’s a tag team match. It’s just a tag team loss. Well soon Caleb, those losses add up and before you know it…….”
One last whack of the hammer. A big chunk of concrete falls from the wall.
"It’s 10 year and Cory Chevelle….he defeats you and takes everything you have built over the past year. The kingdom falls and there is a new king in the universe. And it started with just two lonely little tag team losses.”
Billy strikes the chisel again and it ends up punching its way through the wall. Billy drops the hammer and walks off.
Fade out.
