After Epic……………….
Joe rolls out of the ring and grabs his US title and holds it over his head as he pretty much is being booed. Shawn Sanders stomps on Sniper a few times for good measure and he joins up with Double J who is now at the bottom of the ramp. Vertigo sits in the ring holding his forehead glaring at Double J as Joe and Sanders make their up the ramp in victory. Joe favors his one leg thou once they get behind the curtain.
“Thanks bro.” Joe says as Sanders and Joe are handed a towel to towel off some sweat. “I didn’t know that fuck was so flexible. What was he a fucking gymnast in highs school or something?”
“I know I had girlfriends who weren’t that flexible.” Sanders adds.
“No shit.” Joe replies with as they started to walk towards the locker rooms. “Beers on me tonight.”
“They better be.” Sanders is quick to add
“I think you should challenge Vertigo for his title.”
“We’ll see.” Sanders says as they reach the locker rooms. “Hey I’ll catch up with you in a few, I’ve got some shit to tend to.”
“Alright bro.” And they part ways.
Several minutes later Joe finds himself in his locker room getting ready for a nice hot shower and some treatment with BLPW’s Chiropractor. He’s sitting in front of his locker holding the US title in one hand and the Tag Team title hangs form the door of the locker. Joe places the US title on the bottom shelve of the locker and rubs his right knee.
“Damn.” Joe says out loud. He wants to see the replay later of Vertigo bridging back to hook his hands under his chin and locking in that…whatever move it was. All Joe knows was it killed his lower back and his knee. Good thing Joe already has next week off for some hunting in Wisconsin because it’ll give his knee some time to straighten itself out.
“I swear I taught you better boy.” starlets Joe. Joe spins around to see Green Man standing in the door way!
“Dad!” Joe jumps to his feet and suddenly his knee doesn’t hurt. Joe and Green Man hug as it’s been a while since they seen each other.
“What are you doing here?” Joe asks.
“Just came by to see the new United States Champion.”
“You heard about that?”
“Heard about it? I watched it on TV. You thing I’m going to miss my son in a title match on pay per view. How’s it going Joe?”
“Pretty good. Things are good. I’m winning, picking up titles. Going good.”
“I see.” Green Man says as he sits down. Green Man for the ones of you who don’t know who the hell he is, is Joe’s old man. Oh and he’s a retired wrestler from the XWA, almost crowned XWA World champion but was never to be. Wearing his trademarked green over alls and still sporting his grey beard Green Man looks pretty good. He’s dropped a few pounds and retirement has been good for him. He’s opened a school in Vermont and works behind the scenes with the ESW. Nowadays he doesn’t travel much and stays close to home but does make it to a show now and then to see what’s up and tonight he traveled to see his son, Joe.
“Seen your brother the other day.” Green Man adds.
“How did that go?”
“Okay I guess. Didn’t have much to say but it’s a start.”
“Yeah.”
“While I remember it have you seen that yellow bellied Eternity? I’m still waiting for the retirement match with that worthless piece of shit.”
“Come on Dad you can’t be serious and no, I haven’t seen him.”
“I still got one left in me.”
“You’re 51 dad and being in the ring is no place for you.”
“Hey! That doesn’t stop Ric Flair. Besides I wasn’t talking about climbing back in the ring full time, just one more match. One match to settle some old scores you know.”
“Well if I see Eternity I’ll tell him you’re looking for him. So what your doing tonight?”
“I dunno. What you doing?”
“The three B’s. Bar, Beer, buying.”
“I’m game.”
Joe and Green Man spend the rest of the night with Sanders talking about the good old days, getting a buzz on and chasing tail, will two of em are anyways……………………………….........
