ESW’s Suicide Mission…..
Joe picks himself up from the mat after being pined and it wasn’t a good sign either. He has just left his partner Shawn Sanders and Sick Nick in the hole, the match is now four on two and this is something he didn’t want to happen. Joe walks over to their corner.
JJ “Sorry guys.”
Sanders “Don’t worry bud, we’ll get this.”
Sanders wasn’t kidding either, quickly pinning two to even the odds where he and Sick Nick worked well as a tag team. But Joe wouldn’t be around to see any of it.
As he walked up the ramp to make his way to his locker room he heard the fans in the BLPW Arena, the same fans who once cheered him now boo him. He sold his soul for a shot at a title in the ESW. Something that now weights greatly on his mind as he disappears from the fans sight. In a way he was relived. Almost glad it was over. It was business, he was paid to be in this match but something didn’t feel right about the day of the event. It was like he betrayed the hometown fans and that is going to hard to let go of. But for him it was over. He got his wish in a way, Suicide Mission is now past him and there is only one thing ahead of. The one bright light he has been looking forward too.
End of the Line and the US title.
It was a brand new day for Joe. The sun was bright, the few birds that were around were signing and Joe awoke all eager like a kid on Christmas day. Excitement rushed through his blood. “Today is the day” he thought. His sprits lifted Joe set out after a late flight last night to conquer the day and it started with a phone call from Barry Burton.
“Barry you fat fuck how they hell are you?……today? Wait? For the ESW or the BLPW? BLPW…sure. See you there fuck face.”
Joe snaps his cell phone shut and tosses it on the bed. He pulls the shirt over his head and tucks it in pants. A quick brush of his hair and Joe is ready. Ready to dispel the rumors that he isn’t ready for this match……………..
Later on Joe meet up with Barry Burton in a small café on the outskirts of town. Barry always the professional gets right to the heart of it.
BB “Joe their has been a question about your heart in this match. Not only is your heart but your mindset going into this match not into it and it could effect you in this match for the US title. What do you have to say to that?”
Joe chuckles. “All I have to say to Shane Diamond is that he doesn’t know me at all. I like how he discounted me from the match, like oh, you have a match the night before and you seem busy with that so you will be a non factor in this match. Do you know what is funny Barry, If Shane Diamond walked into this room right now with a tee shirt on that read “My name is Shane Diamond” I still wouldn’t know who he was. I walk into a room, everyone knows my name. I wonder why that is? Maybe it’s because I am what he wishes he could be. One of the elite.
Truth be told Barry, The match the other night in the ESW did bother me. It had me bummed out some. It wasn’t because I was worried that I couldn’t win the match, or that I was in over my head. I was bummed that here I am, BLPW’s Tag Team Champion, in our home town, in our building, as the bad guy. I know it was stupid on my part knowing when and where the match was going to take place and I over looked that but it didn’t take me out of my game. I still busted my tail in that match and while I came up empty handed I can sit here and say I did my best. It was hard to hear the boos but that is something I have to deal with. But in no way will it stop me from winning that US title. Yeah I said it. Win the US title.”
BB “Really? Because Shane Diamond says you don’t have it in you to win the gold.”
JJ “Really? And who is he to determine that? DO you see this Barry?”
Joe takes his BLPW Tag Team title and places on t he table in the café.
JJ “It clearly reads BLPW….I already hold gold in the BLPW. I’m not talking about championship gold from some federation we never heard of, I’m not claiming to be a 125 time World champion in my own federation. None of that. This here has everything to do with BLPW and means more than what Shane Diamond has right now. I look at him and he has nothing. He just has wishes, pipe dreams. To stand there and say I don’t have it……I don’t know Barry, no one and I mean no one has been able or even came close to beating Shawn Sanders and I for these titles. There hasn’t been no one in the BLPW to even test us let alone threaten us. Next to Sniper, Garza and Diamond have to prove to us that their real players in this match. Snip and I…we have the gold. We have what it takes to win championship gold in the BLPW. What can Shane Diamond say? Oh that winning the US title brings him one step closer to the World title…….Guess what Diamond, I’m already one step ahead of you. Looks like you have ground to make up and against me in that ring, that is no easy task.”
BB “My next point is that the X Factor in this match is the fact that Diamond has never held the gold in the BLPW. He claims it could make him dangerous. He could have more of a desire to hold gold.”
JJ “Desire or is it failure Barry? He desires to hold gold. I have held gold twice. I’ve been the BLPW World champion. Do you think I don’t desire to hold that title again Barry? It’s been four long years Barry since I held a singles title in the BLPW. Four long years. What? You think that fire doesn’t burn inside of me? DO you think I sit here today as we speak and say to myself, Ah I don’t want that US title? I’ve already done better than it? Get the fuck out of here! I want that title so much I would have wished away a day of my life to get a shot at it! THAT’S HOW MUCH I WANT IT! Here! Take this fucking title! Take the Tag Team title! You can have it if I can get my hands on the US title….that’s how much it means to me.
There not much danger in a man who desires something in life but there is something dangerous about a man who is out to prove himself to his peers. I came back to the BLPW to do one thing. Show the world I still have it, I can still do it, win match, over come the odds and win championships. I’ve won matches, I’ve over come the odds and I have a championship. Listen to my words and you’ll hear me say Championships. BLPW Tag Team title. It’s nice. It’s cozy. Keeps me warm on cold winter nights. I have something to hang my hat on. But it’s not the BLPW World title nor is it the US title. I win the US title, gets people talking. Gets me closer to where I want to be, where I used to be. At the top. Now that makes a man dangerous.
Hed my words. I will walk out of End of the Line the US champion. Sniper has been a fine champion, a alright champion but it’s time for a change. Time for someone who has a fighting sprit in him hold that title and someone is me.”
Joe smiles as Barry writes everything down. It’s only a few hours away till Joe can good one his words………………………………..........................
