The scene opens up with Double J Joe Jones sitting at a table in a small restaurant reading the newspaper. A cup of coffee is on the table and the steam from the hot coffee rises up from the cup. Joe flips to the last page of the newspaper looks it over and then folds it in half and tosses it on the table. Joe then crosses his legs and takes a sip of coffee. Seems like Joe is always drinking something in his promos doesn’t it?
“So here we go, Back in Philly for Epic. A home coming in the BLPW Arena and I for one am excited to be back home. Not only will I have less miles to travel between shows for the BLPW and the ESW but I will also have time to get some rest. Traveling from England to New York for matches on each side of the pond does get to you after the third of fourth trip. Maybe that has something to do with my performance at No Exit.”
(I’m riding a rp not knowing what happened on the card, but this is a rematch so I can only assume something happened. Hey you try to rp for a match without knowing the results from last week.)
“So you can only imagine my surprise when I learned that I have a rematch with Kaz this Monday Night on Epic. Last week Kaz I heard ya talking about the first time we faced each other and to be honest I couldn’t remember our first match. So I hit the tapes and I had to go over nearly 3 years of old Epic tapes to find our first match. There it was, May 23rd 2004 episode of Epic and in mist of the show was our first match. In fact let’s relive the old days just for shits and giggles. Roll the tape!”
We cut from the restaurant to Epic way back on May 23rd 2004 near the end of the match between Double J Joe Jones and a Kazuhiko Nakamaki……..
[Kazuhiko Nakamaki moves back to his feet. "Double J" Joe Jones throws Kazuhiko Nakamaki off the ropes and hits him with a diving shoulder block. Kazuhiko Nakamaki climbs to his feet. Kazuhiko Nakamaki gets taken down with a corkscrew armdrag. Kazuhiko Nakamaki is back on his feet. Kazuhiko Nakamaki gets sent into the turnbuckle while Double J hits him with a splash. "Double J" Joe Jones locks the figure-four Leglock on Kazuhiko Nakamaki. Ivan Langley asks Kazuhiko Nakamaki if he quits. ...Joe Jones tightens the hold....(AHHHH!) Kazuhiko Nakamaki escapes. Double J and Kazuhiko Nakamaki go to the floor ]
Richard Evans - Those idiots will be counted out!
Rob Stallion - This has been one intense match, there hasn't even been a second of rest for either man, they've been just going at it.
Paul Stevenson - If you think this match is intense, I can't wait to see how intense the matches are at this years King of Philadelphia Tournament!
[Jones goes for the Figure Four Leglock. Nakamaki kicks him into the turnbuckle. Nakamaki gets to his feet and kicks him in the gut. Nakamaki signals for the Half Hatch Suplex. Jones fights it off with an elbow to the face. Jones bounces off the ropes. Nakamaki ducks a clothesline as Jones hits the other ropes. Nakamaki and Jones collide head on in the middle of the ring. Both men are down.]
Paul Stevenson - Wait a second, look who it is!!
[Vertigo comes running down the aisle and slides into the ring. Vertigo begins laying in right hands on Double J. The referee is calling for the bell as Vertigo pounds away. The crowd cheers as Legend makes his way to the ring. Legend pulls Vertigo off of Double J and tosses him into the corner. Legend nails a clothesline in the corner.]
Richard Evans - This thing has broken down into and all out brawl.
Rob Stallion - I love it.
[Kaz gets to his feet and goes after Vertigo as well. Both Kaz and Legend charge Vertigo and clothesline him over the top rope. As Double J gets to his feet, he charges Kaz. Kaz backdrops Double J over the top rope and onto Vertigo on the outside. Inside the ring, both Kaz and Legend celebrate after clearing the ring.]
Rob Stallion - Yeah they're celebrating now, but what happens if they have to face off in the King of Philly tournament.
Paul Stevenson - Good question, but for now they've cleaned house here. But for right now, the time has now come to determine who will be the last two competitors in the King of Philadelphia competition![/i]
We return back to the little restaurant where Double J is finishing off a slice of keylime pie. He places the fork on the plate and wipes the side of his mouth with a napkin. After he swallows he takes a zip of water.
“Well wasn’t that just fun down old memory lane. It’s amazing how much fun we had back then and it’s even more amazing how many loose ends I have left to tie up. I forgot all about what you did Vertigo in that match who was upset that I beat him twice. After I watched that I slowly remember how pissed I was at you for interfering in that match. But hey, who knew I would get hurt shortly after words. Time does heal things I guess but now that I have reviewed the tapes I now know that I have some unfinished business to deal with and some of that unfinished business is that we never got to finish that match Kaz, until now. I guess I was just too damn busy being the BLPW Tag Team champion for the past 100 days Kaz to remember we once had a match two and half years ago but clearly you have not. You either have a brain like a elephant or you just don’t have a life. This week we’ll get a chance to finish that match Kaz, one on one, man to man, just you and me and Vertigo will hopefully stay in the locker room and I think we can count on Legend not being a part of this match. This week we will finally put this to bed and you Kaz, will feel how it is to be locked in the figure four with now here’s to go and you will have but only one choice to make Kaz, and that is to TAP OUT! Consider yourself warned.”
